Bananas in Pyjamas

At the risk of boring the reader of this blog, I just wanted to say that I am on the 'pyjama theme' again today. 
There's two reasons for this :
1. I am wearing mine
2. I've been updating this blog (and making attempts to change my website Write Place  to it's new domain name Write Place

Now as my blogger/writer friends know, sometimes putting thoughts from your brain to the keyboard is not an easy task.  In the process of unjumbling them and putting them into a format that others can understand there's a lot of pondering, querying, looking at other websites and so on. It is all too easy to get sidetracked onto looking at today's TV listings, the trends on Twitter and  checking Facebook every few minutes in case someone has responded to your inane comments. With me there's usually a bit of 'phoning a friend' too. 

It's a bit like looking at old photos. You originally intend to search out just one or a few, but before you know it you are not only researching your own family history but also that of your daughter's friend's uncle's great grandparents who emigrated to Uzbekhistan with Francis Drake.
This for once, is not an 'age thing', it pretty much stretches across everyone I reckon.

Anyway, updating the blog and website has involved me looking back at old posts and going off at a tangent, before coming full circle to what I have blogged about before - pyjamas. 
Maybe this is some sort of phobia I have, or maybe it's psychosomatic (I'm looking forward already to wearing new ones tonight ... )
But in the meantime, here I am still in my pyjamas (though I have been showered ! ) eating bananas and drinking coffee. A pleasant way to pass the day, is it not ?

To Where We Belong - Musings on a mill pond

  He first went there with his school, long ago.  The teachers had told the classes that the stone work was from Roman times; remnants from hundreds of years back.  It turned out that it wasn’t Roman at all.   It was an old mill first used for smelting lead in the late 1600s and then between around 1760 and 1850 fine paper was produced there to wrap the products of the nearby iron and steel industry - often cutlery and probably the pins, needles and wire made in the local area. All that remained today was the pond which had provided power by supplying a water wheel  and some and some ruinous buildings.  Romantic maybe – but not Roman. When they had met years later, he could not wait to take her to this place, high up on the hillside in the depths of the forest with the stream trickling, then rushing down from the tops. Tawny, hazel, mustard and coral tainted leaves and ferns painted the background for the scene. And she had loved it too.

  The Nakba - the "disaster" or "catastrophe" was the destruction of Palestinian society and homeland in 1948 and the permanent displacement of Palestinian Arabs. The term is used to describe both the events of 1948 and the ongoing occupation of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as their displacement in refugee camps throughout the region and beyond.
