One Thumb Is All You Need

Image
So, just when I decided that it's time I really ought to get back to using a pen or pencil instead of a keyboard constantly, I find this function on my phone. Whether it's been available all the time I've had the phone or if it's a new thing, I don't know, but I do know that it's a lot easier and quicker than the memo facility and, whilst there is definitely something to the feel of writing on paper- especially brand new paper and I've got a beautiful new notebook that is crying out to be used -  needs must, as they say and my old age and the conditions it brings with it mean that using one thumb as opposed to a whole hand is a more pleasurable experience.   I understand that I can write, edit, save and share whether online or not so have visions of me tapping out my next best seller (next ??) while sat on a beach, on top of a mountain, in the woods, on a boat ( not likely) or wherever I happen to be when the muse hits me. Yes, I am expecting it to hi...

Another New Look ?

Image
All prepared to write a blog on a particular issue this morning to find the announcement that "Blogger has a new look" . Well, I'm very pleased for you Blogger. Maybe you have decided to give yourself a different image and colour scheme - a sort of Spring clean that cheers you up as well as your bloggers, especially in this dank, dreary weather we are having here. Actuallly, the sun is trying to struggle through here right now, but the forecast is rain, rain and more rain and some strong winds to accompany it "Flaming June" is the phrase that comes to mind, as it's probably better to use the word flaming instead of another profanity. I would like to say people at Blogger, that I love the new look and it has really given me inspiration to get blogging and reading blogs a lot more. Over the past few days I've been getting emails, texts and notifications, some at unearthly hours of the morning - as I'm sure every internet user has about  Google policies . I've skim read the information as it's arrived - and lost interest after the first few lines.  Is this something I need to read the very 'small print' of or is it just something that will happen and won't particularly effect the likes of me as a regular user of Google search ? Facebook 'timelines', Twitter upgrading to new versions, Amazon recommending what I should read and iplayer giving me suggestions of what to watch, it's hardly surprising that I find it difficult to find time to write. Of course I could tap away on the laptop without considering the internet at all until I'm ready to email something. But that would mean a long list of 'research' topics to look up later and anyone who knows me knows my aversion to lists. Text me, email me, Facebook me o...

Newspapers or comics?

What a joke some newspapers have now become - now the Daily Mail online is even more pathetic than it's hard copy version. Following the report and pics of the "contrite" and "slimline" Ross after his supposedly feeling the "pressure" of his latest ridiculous and overly paid antics...Daily Mail online then posts immediately "Ads By Google...Prank Call to your friend, Prank Calls"and best of all "Want a job in journalism" ! The Editor needs a job in reality, I think.
