Before The End of Days - End of Man's Self Rule ?

May 27th 2012 has come and gone - according to my calendar - and I haven't seen any signs that the The End has happened. I meant to tell the reader of this blog yesterday, the day after the prediction date but I was too busy recovering from my relaxing Sunday.
I suppose I must have read the prophecy wrongly, at least the one I was going on from Ronald Wieldman. Of course he didn't actually say the world was going to end, just that "man's self-rule" would end, the day before yesterday.

The prophecies revealed in the book apparently explain the demise of the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain and much of western Europe, which will be followed by man's final world war. The destruction of this time will far exceed the very worst times of all human history, it says. I downloaded the book to my Kindle, but the back log that I have in books to read on Kindle is quickly becoming bigger than the piles of 'real' books to be read that are around the house.  Ben Hatch's Are we nearly there yet ? is 62% read Brand Loyalty by Callie Phillips is 100% read, but every day I have to go back to confirm that parts of the story have just been on BBC Click and that the 2012 version of 1984 has been going on for ages.  


With the situation in Syria becoming each day more appalling than we could imagine and other horror stories and grotesque events around the world reported by the minute, the destruction of humanity and man's final war seems very much a reality. It's no good me asking 'God' as I am 99.9% of the belief that there is no one god. But I do believe in the power of prayer

I am very interested to know more about the series of events that you have witnessed since May 27th, and especially from "a believers" view.

I find it incredibly difficult, or rather impossible to believe God could be in full control of anything at all - but appreciate that depends on your defining of God.
It seems a bit like me trying to referee a rugby game where I have no idea of the rules or understanding of the objectives. Meanwhile the players are free to do whatever they want and I am oblivious to whether they are breaking the rules ...

To Where We Belong - Musings on a mill pond

  He first went there with his school, long ago.  The teachers had told the classes that the stone work was from Roman times; remnants from hundreds of years back.  It turned out that it wasn’t Roman at all.   It was an old mill first used for smelting lead in the late 1600s and then between around 1760 and 1850 fine paper was produced there to wrap the products of the nearby iron and steel industry - often cutlery and probably the pins, needles and wire made in the local area. All that remained today was the pond which had provided power by supplying a water wheel  and some and some ruinous buildings.  Romantic maybe – but not Roman. When they had met years later, he could not wait to take her to this place, high up on the hillside in the depths of the forest with the stream trickling, then rushing down from the tops. Tawny, hazel, mustard and coral tainted leaves and ferns painted the background for the scene. And she had loved it too.
